Feodosia, Crimea. Pictures

Feodosia (or Feodosiya) is situated on the Black sea coast of Crimean peninsula in about 115 km. east from Simferopol International airport and about 180 km. east of Yalta. Population is about 90,000 inhabitants. In medieval time Feodosiya was an important trade centre of Genoa. Modern city is a popular Black Sea resort with sandy beaches, mineral springs, and mud baths. At the same time Feodosia is an important cargo port.
Famous Russian painter Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky was born and spent most of his life in Feodosia. Now one can visit The Aivazovsky Picture Gallery, situated in the city center.
