Palace in Alupka. Yalta. Crimea

Crossing over the Swallow's Nest, visit the former castle of Count Mikhail Vorontsov at Alupka. Vorontsov was governor of the southern Russia (which included Crimea) in the early 19th century. Moorish elements and northern European styles of Alupka Palace blend seamlessly here to create a stunning villa. The staircase leads all the way to the Black sea and the lions that guard it are carved from imported Italian marble. Vorontsov's Castle is well kept and has a small art gallery.

Amazing private excursions in Crimea with an intelligent and caring private guide - all the main sights of Crimean peninsula: castles and palaces, museums and cities, fortresses and monasteries.
