Some facts about Kiev (Kyiv):

Population: Kiev (or in Ukrainian Kyiv) with a population of about 2.7 million inhabitants is the largest city, the capital of Ukraine.

Location: Kiev is located in the north central part of Ukraine on both sides of the Dnieper River, which flows south through the city towards the Black Sea

Public transport system: highly developed and includes: metro (subway), electric trolley buses, trams, buses and minibuses (marshrutka).

Railway and airport: Daily trains run to (from) most of Ukrainian cities, many parts of Europe, Russia etc. Kiev has two airports: Boryspil airport, serving many International airlines and smaller Zhulyany Airport, serving mostly domestic flights.

Climate and best time to visit: Kyiv has a continental humid climate. Average day temperature in July is +21 °C and -5 to -2 °C in January. The best time to visit Kiev is late Spring, June and early Autumn.
